I love these rants. I haven't decided to write in Paul or vote for Obama here in WI. I have nothing further to add.

Cool! Then I say, vote for him! I am in California so, my vote for Ron Paul really doesn't matter. I don't think there is a chance of my vote for Ron Paul creating anything more than an infinitesimal statistical anomaly on the final outcome.

It most certainly will NOT be for McCain/Palin/Bush/Cheney/Mobil/Shell/Exxon/Enron/GM/SmithBarney/China/Ford/Aetna/AIG/BofA/etc.

Just to be on the safe side and to ensure that I am not in any way helping McCain, I will be voting for Obama.

Actually Shane, I think in Montana Ron Paul is actually on the ballot as the Constitution Party candidate.

Read about it at:
http://www.dailypaul.com/node/60605

A vote for McCain is a vote for the continued destruction of the Republican Party.

Cast your ballot for Ron Paul.

Nice rant.

I would like to say that, although the Democrats have very bad policies, the Republicans aren't any better right now.

I think the right thing to do would be to hold back your support for the McCain-Palin ticket so that the real Republicans' voices can be heard. The party is completely against it's own platform right now. The only way we can move it back to its roots is to make it clear that you have to represent our platform if you want our votes in the presidential election.

I'm voting for either Bob Barr (Libertarian) or Chuck Baldwin (Constitution). Maybe if Obama wins, it will teach the Neoconservatives that they have to move back toward their base if they ever want to be in power again.

That said, there are good Republican candidates to vote for in the local and state races. In fact, I'm excited to be voting for Dino Rossi for Washington governor. He has a good chance of unseating a terrible Democrat governor who is burying my state in a $3.2 billion deficit. The next thing you know, we'll have a state income tax to further steal our money and erode our civil liberties.

There's my rant.

NOOOOO!!!!!

Write in Ron Paul, McCain is an idiot!

I completely agree that socialism isn't what we need (whether it works or not is a different argument). What we need is an economy free of government influence. Notice I did not say free from regulation.

The economy that rich boy McCain wants to continue is one where the rich boys get richer by using their riches to influence regulations to ensure that their pockets continue to get fatter. McCain has failed to acknowledge the harm done by the deregulation of a variety of industries because it has provided him with enormous wealth and power. McCain has said in a recent interview that deregulating Wall Street was good for us!

Choose whomever you want, but please don't think that McCain is a Republican, he isn't. He is a Fascist bent on promoting the policies of a failed administration that have destroyed our economy, our international influence and our economic might, all in the name of making himself and his buddies even more wealthy.

McCain, Bush and the corporations pulling on their puppet strings have fleeced the American people, period. We have been forced to nationalize the banking industry at enormous cost to the taxpayers (and their children, their children's children, their children's children's children, ad infinitum), we have lost our homes, we are spending billions of American Dollars per day subsidizing military industries and generating massive wealth for oil companies and we have experienced the worst financial problems since the Great Depression.

Oh yeah, and Palin thinks dinosaurs walked the earth 4,000 years ago...

Don't even get me started on McCain being a POW! Who cares? It doesn't make him smarter, it doesn't make him anymore qualified to be President. Sure, it is admirable and worthy of our appreciation, but not our vote.

Again, please don't compare McCain and the current leaders of the GOP to Republicans, it sullies our reputation.

As for Obama's taxation plan, well at least he has one! Ha!. I don't think McCain can even spell "tax". Obama has stated that he will lower taxes for all but the most wealthy of people who are not currently paying their fair share. I used to believe in trickle down economics until I realized the trickling stopped well above my income level.

Profit is not a dirty word, absolutely correct! Free markets have made us strong, unfortunately free markets are not what we have now. In order to be free, you must play by the rules. Freedom comes with a price. We all have given up rights for our freedom, without it we wouldn't be free. We can't murder each other, we can't steal from each other. Why is it that we allow corporations to steal from us? They take our money, but don't pay their fair share back. They are operating outside the bounds of our social contract.

I am ranting now, but please don't vote for McCain. I implore you either write in Ron Paul or vote for Obama. While not perfect, or necessarily in the right party, at least isn't one of the GOP elite.
