Crap! I drowned my iPod!

Broken iPod

That’s right folks… I left my iPod in my workout sweater and then I washed it. I realized I killed my iPod when I needed the headphones to plug into my computer to play games while Roch studied.

Dang it!

I was so sad. I cried for my little iPod. I pictured it buried under all the dirty clothes, with the water level rising… I didn’t even use warm water - I set the cycle for cold! Oh! I don’t deserve electronics!

So, there it is. Broken, but still beautiful. I think I will give it a proper farewell. Perhaps a viking funeral so I can set it aflame and send it to the ends of the earth in all its glory.

We’re going to the city tomorrow and I might stop by an Apple retailer to see if my AppleCare protection plan covers iPod neglect.

Sniff, sniff… snivel…

Update: It works… I willed it back to life.

Sad! Yes, I think a viking funeral is definitely in order. I’ll have a snivel for you too, but no crying. I’m a bitch like that.

That’s sad Jenn. Hey, you know when Dan got his new cell phone he dropped in a bucket of water. He thought he killed it. Then he used a hair dryer to dry it out and it worked just fine. Don’t know if it would work for your iPod though

The “parts” fit loose now… like it got banged around in the washer. I think it’s done for. And my warranty doesn’t cover accidental damage. I called to see if it would be cheaper to send it in for repair, or if I should just buy a new one. It would be cheaper to buy a new one - that’s America for you! Just throw it away when it doesn’t work!

Apple said that a retailer might take this broken iPod like a “trade-in.” That would be cool. I’ll keep you posted with late-breaking news as the saga unfolds.

Oh shit. You’re not going to believe this… I plugged my iPod into my computer after a couple of days. It works. Don’t I feel sheepish?

You were right! I’m so glad I didn’t throw it in the trash!
