Not to be confused with your site’s kiwi.
AboutUs.org is a wiki whose goal is to create a free and valuable Internet resource containing information both about websites and other related data. The site was pre-populated with information about many different websites.
If you don’t know what a wiki is (wikipedia anyone?)… it’s a website that allows the visitors themselves to easily add, remove, and otherwise edit and change available content, typically without the need for registration. This ease of interaction and operation makes a wiki an effective tool for mass collaborative authoring. And traditionally, when many authors exist, you get more quality content.
AboutUs basically scans your about page or home page then compiles a short description of your site. They offer contact information (email, location) if it’s available from your site.
I noticed that whois websites link to AboutUs. Quite interesting. I wonder how well AboutUs will do over time? I like it so far. It’s kind of cool. One more incoming link to my site is always a good thing.
