I’ve talked a few times about Sledge Hammer with people and they think I’m crazy. Yes, this show existed, the guy talked to his gun and slept with it under his pillow. (I mean piece - not gun for you full-metal-jacket fans).

<img src="http://dailytwaddle.com/images/img/sledgehammer.jpg" height="150" width="100"alt="" class="right" />The show is REAL - Roch… look for yourself!

Wikipedia Article »
IMDB Profile »

And guess what? It’s on my Netflix list!
Coming to a TV near me.

I loved that song, so I looked up Air Supply on Google Music and found out that they totally rocked a bunch of songs that I like!

Here is a list of my favorites that I promptly downloaded from iTunes:

(here I am) The One That You Love

Lost In Love (and I don’t know much)

Here I Am (just when I thought I was over you)

All Out Of Love (I’m so lost without you)

Even The Nights Are Better

Making Love Out of Nothing at All

Two Less Lonely People (in the world)

Every Woman in the World (to me)

I love Indiana Jones. I love the ride at Disneyland - even Roch was Indiana Jones for Halloween once. I was thrilled when I found out they’ve made another movie!

Let’s start off by saying this story was written by George Lucas and directed by Steven Spielburg. Now, can you really go wrong? Also, Shia LaBeouf (one of my favorite actors) stars in the movie with Cate Blanchett and Harrison Ford.

Okay, now lots of my friends watched this movie and were disappointed by the weak plot and lame special effects. I asked “Did you watch the first three movies of the series?” No, of course they didn’t. They didn’t enjoy the movie because they’re missing the nostalgia that I grew up with.

I thought it was a good movie. I liked that they brought back old characters. I also thought it was great to see what Indy has been up to since his last adventure (professing of course). Plus they kind of made way for a new generation of Indiana Jones - Jr.

In theaters now!
Watch the movie trailer »

I give it a “quite enjoyable.”
4 out of 5 stars ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

A young girl out of Montana (whoop whoop!) won National Geographic’s Planet Contest by coming up with a mnemonic to remember the planets’ order. “My Very Exciting Magic Carpet Just Sailed Under Nine Palace Elephants.” freebird whilst jester

Okay, so I just happen to know the order of the planets by memory and I was stumped when I got to “Carpet.” What planet starts with a C? Well, back in 2006, the International Astronomical Union classed Pluto as a dwarf planet, along with Ceres and Eris. Now we have eleven planets in our solar system. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Ceres, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Eris.

Lisa Loeb recorded a song based off this mnemonic and I just listened to it - now it’s totally stuck in my head! It’s a cute song and an unforgettable way to remember the order of the planets from the sun.

<a href="http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/Stories/SpaceScience/Planet-song" title=More on this story">Listen to the song at National Geographic »
Take a look at all the planets »

By the way… three other objects in our solar system may become classified as dwarf planets: Sedna, Orcus, and Quaoar.

This second graphic is a pie chart that shows my user’s browser and operating system. Look! Only half the people use Internet Explorer! Yay! Maybe that number will continue to decrease over the years as other browsers like Firefox get popular.

I’m in the market for a laser printer (monochrome/black ink only). I like my Epson inkjet because of the separate ink cartridges for each color. It’s more of a home/hobby printer because you can put your memory card right in the printer and print photos without turning on the computer. That’s a cool feature that I’ve never used. freebird whilst jester

I need a laser printer because inkjet-prints never really dry. I’ve received many-a-letter folded so that ink touches ink and transfers a some of the text. Looks like crap. Unprofessional.

My Current Needs:
* good resolution (like 1000dpi or more)
* cheap toner cartridges
* ability to print labels
* priced under $200

What I Want If I Can Get It:
* fast printing
* fax + printer + copier
* large capacity paper tray (like 250 sheets)
* no top-use (so I can stack stuff on top)
* ability to print cardstock
* quiet printing
* ethernet plug instead of USB
* priced at free

Features That Don’t Concern Me:
* network capability (I’ve got the airport extreme)
* scanner
* telephone
* brand, model or “look”

Post Script… I hate it when my “session times out.” I will be the judge of how long it takes me to conduct business online. I’m trying to buy some printer ink from Apple.com

Post-Post Script… I friggin love BestBuy.com.

Post-Post-Post Script… can the word peripheral be a noun or is it just an adjective? Do I need to make it two words - peripheral device, or can I just say “stay away from my peripherals, sucka?”

Dang it! freebird whilst jester

The price changed from 41¢ to 42¢ - effective on May 12th.

I just bought a whole roll of 41¢ stamps last month! So, I had to buy a couple pages of 1¢ stamps to make up the difference, but I hate putting two stamps on an envelope.

It’s just so annoying. I always find out after I mail a letter that the price went up. Why not wait 5 years and increase the stamp price by 5 cents? Or, why not wait until January first? That’s when I expect prices to go up, or major national changes to happen.

I’m thinking seriously about purchasing the “Forever Stamp.” The Postmaster encourages us to by these stamps because they are good forever. Meaning I spend 42¢ now for a stamp, it will still cost just 42¢ when I send a letter five years from now.

My only problem with this forever stamp is that it comes in a booklet of 20. I like rolls of 100 better. I still don’t really understand why the post office created this stamp. I find it hard to believe that their motive is just to provide convenience for their customers - there must some some ulterior motive.

Ever wonder if your payment went through okay? I’m a little nervous that something might go wrong when all I see on the screen after I click “BUY” is: freebird whilst jester

Thank you for your order

Well, I just received the coolest online confirmation of payment! It looks just like a real receipt! This picture is a bit smaller than the original (for my blog-loading-speed purposes). I purchased Overflow for my Mac 0S X.5 (Leopard) because stacks takes too much time to customize.

It’s nerve-racking to give up my credit card information online (which is why I prefer PayPal). But this cute little receipt made me happy! I’m impressed with this website’s creativity - thoughtful all the way until the end!

I’m a bit of a simpleton.

Although I busied myself with cleaning or something, I popped my head in the living room a few times to watch part of the movie. I didn’t get to finish the movie, or even understand the plot, but I liked the scenes I watched. freebird whilst jester

I’m in charge of the Netflix account (Roch tasked me), so I choose the movies and TV shows. What can I say? I rent the crap out of movies since I canceled my cable/satellite service. I thought we’d give this movie a try. We usually wind down at night with an hour of TV-time or book-time before bed. With movies, we just pick a good spot to stop watching and finish it the next day.

We loved this movie! We found it difficult to decide when to stop watching - we kept saying “after this scene” or “let’s see what happens here.”

The movie has a great plot with a good ending. My kind of show. I just wish I had watched it in the theater! Rent this movie if you get a chance.

I give it a “surprisingly awesome.”
