I’m beside myself with worry for our country’s future. For the first time in my life, I lose sleep over the presidential election.
I’m so afraid of socialism in this country that I feel like it’s too late to stop it. Our president has stripped us of so many rights using this war conflict atrocity as an excuse. I’m sickened by the label people get when they speak of their constitutional rights. Activists are extremists are terrorists. I love my country. I love being an American. And I love my constitutional rights. I am a patriot.
Now, faced with nauseating options, I must choose a candidate that won’t impoverish this country any further. With Thompson dropping out I feel a slight glimmer of home that perhaps Ron Paul has a chance.
I’ve decided to do my part (however small that is) to help the only candidate who empowers me with optimism. Here are the actions I’ve taken today:
1) Registered as a volunteer for Ron Paul’s campaign.
2) Became a precinct leader.
3) Joined the American Civil Liberties Union.
4) Supported Ron Paul on Facebook and Myspace.
5) Added support badges to my Daily Twaddle website.
Ron Paul 2008 – Hope for America

I’m with ya.
Welcome to paul party! Say yes to Dr. No!
Your correct, Ron Paul is the only hope of the Republican Party, but I am afraid they are too corrupt and too much in the pockets of the
military-industrial war machine that keeps America humming
with paranoia and hatred to ever allow him a chance, they would rather have the stepford wife Sarah Palin, who they csn control. Relax socialism won’t hurt if its honest, big corrupt governments are evil no matter whether they are left or right. Just remember “left is right, right is wrong.”
Ha ha! Thanks Dan for the enlightening comment. Yep, big government puts money in bureaucratic pockets – socialism is even bigger government.
I would like to be referred to one example of a successful socialist regime. Socialism has failed regularly throughout history. Regardless of the party affiliation on voter registration cards, all Americans are the result of very specific American values and ideals that are quite contrary to socialism. In 2010 and 2012, I hope the people of America will vote for the person who is right for congress, the senate and the presidency, rather than vote for a government welfare check (in any form) coming directly to their mailbox.
