I installed Akismet (a comment spam filter) on this blog. I wasn’t receiving any spam, but I knew it was just a matter of time. And today is that time. I realized I was receiving spam when I logged in to the admin panel this morning. I noticed a message that says “Akismet has protected your site from 32 spam comments.”
Whoa! Holy cow, I hope they’re actually spam and not real comments. But, I checked – it’s ALL spam. That means not one spam comment leaked into to my site. Awesome! I’ll need to update my previous rating from one star to four stars! This plugin saves me time and embarrassment. I can’t let my mom read viagra ads!
Stupid spam.

I love Akistmet. It’s a must-have plugin. I can’t imagine having a blog without one. I recall only one real comment tagged as spam. That’s it and I have thousands of spam comments. Occasionally, I’ll find a spam or two make it past Akismet. No worries. Just press the “Recheck Queue for Spam” button. Beautiful webdesign, by the way.
