Play Review: Buried Child

Sam Shepard’s play “Buried Child” sucked the big one.

The basis of the play revolves around the notion that the patriarch of the family (a couch-ridden drunk) buried the bastard child that his son and wife fathered.

Yes, you heard me right.

The play was sprinkled with some dark slapstick humor but I just hated it! The play got so boring at one point I had to physically hold my eyelids open.

The only saving grace was the superb acting but why put so much effort into such a crappy story?

I give it a “Shoot me in the face!”
zero stars
