Ridiculous Hippie Lyrics

I heard a song on the radio thanks to Sirius’ Super-Shuffle. The shuffle randomly picks a song from all the music channels. It’s great! I rocked out to Boyz 2 Men’s Mowtownphilly and Micheal Jackson’s Thriller. I also have a new love of Def Leppard thanks to the movie Balls of Fury.

I heard a beautiful song from Gladys Knight called Midnight Train to Georgia. She says that he’s catching a train to Georgia because he wants to go to a simpler place and time. And she has to be on that midnight train because…. “I’d rather live in his world - than live without him in mine.” It’s so sweet! It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

But here is the real purpose of this post. I heard this song called “Signs” the other day on the radio. It’s just ridiculous. When I looked up the lyrics to create this post, I found someone else who already wrote a nice review of the song.

Retarded hippies! I just about had enough of their “let’s share (even though I have nothing to offer)” attitude. Historically… equality (communism) doesn’t work. People need incentive to work hard! And sharing everything they work so hard for with stinky, misinformed, lazy drug-addicts is not it.

I love ya even though you insult my heritage :) First, I love “midnight train to Georgia”. One of my most favorite soul songs. Second, I can’t stand Def Leppard, they can suck it.

Okay, to the point. I couldn’t agree more that some people need incentive to work hard and most of the time you earn your keep (silver spoons may be just as unfortunate as jobless “hippies”). But that generation of peace and love gave way to great things like co-ops and organic farming, equal rights, clean water acts, and stories like “Forrest Gump” (which I know you have an appreciation for), and if I do say so myself…some kick ass music!!
So chalk one up to the hippies that did/do contribute :)

Yes, kick-ass music - I love the Forrest Gump soundtrack. I’m all for peace and love, and I’m certainly all about change. I guess it just irritates me when people think they’re somehow “owed” something from me.

“Signs” is one of my favorite songs. I thought the music was great during that time, but not the life style.

Mommy… we like almost all the same stuff! But not this song.., who knew? Also, you’re the only woman of your (tender) age that wants a Nintendo Wii. That’s cool. You might appreciate the new sitcom “The Big Bang Theory.” It’s about nerdy nerds - hilarious!
