Spring Closet-Cleaning Tip

Yesterday I overheard a couple of chicks talking about closet hangers. And I’m particular about which way my hangers face and how my clothes are sorted. Naturally, I wanted to hear their conversation in detail - so I eves dropped.

The blond said something about facing your hangers in the wrong direction, then you’ll know which clothes to get rid of. That didn’t make sense to me or to the brunette (fortunately). The brunette asked for clarification.

“Wait. What are you saying? Say it again.”

“When you pull an item from your closet to wear, return the hanger facing the opposite way. After laundry, be sure to hang this item on the same backward hanger. So, the clothes you wear often will face the opposite direction. Then, in six months, get rid of all the clothes hanging the normal way.”

Brilliant! I would make one suggestion. Switch from six months to one year because of seasonal items. I wish I could be there when she gets rid of her clothes. I’ll take them! I love hand-me-downs.

yes interesting. I’m always getting rid of stuff though so I don’t think I will necessitate this trick. Good for people with tons of clothes though. I’m going to tell my sister about it.

    I too love hand-me-downs :)
