I Won the eBay Auction!

Whew! eBay is stressful!
I know the tricks though. These sneaky guys try to get in on the item by bidding within the last 30 seconds of the auction. But I was ready!
I found on an item on eBay for Roch’s birthday present (hee-hee, it’s so awesome). The starting bid was set at $60. I set my maximum bid at $73.51. Weird number I know, but I bought a complimentary item for $2.49 and the shipping for the big item is $24.00 and I wanted the total to equal $100 even. Holy crap. Maybe I really do have OCD?
I set my trusty stop-watch from my google home page to match eBay’s official time. The two-minute warning bell rang (which scared the crap out of me) and I clicked over to my item’s page. I refreshed a few times to see if any sneaky-bidders showed up. I thought I was safe because I chose a max-bid high above the starting bid. I didn’t think they would have enough time to outbid me. But someone did! Crap! He bid $75.77 with 34 seconds left!
I had to hurry… I typed $78, clicked the bid-button and waited. Oh shit! I have to click confirm! HURRY! I clicked the confirm with one second left. Oh my God. One second! The auction ended at 16:28:39 and my bid came in at 16:28:38. And, since eBay bids on my behalf up to my maximum bid, I paid $76 instead of my “willing to pay” price of $78.
Oh man, it was so exciting! I can’t wait to get the present! I’m sorry, I can’t tell you what it is yet. But I’ll let you know in June.
