Silly, empty utterances from Jenn who knows nothing about a subject but writes about it anyway.

My square dancing club reached it’s 60th anniversary this year. We’re having a huge celebration this Saturday and the club invited all square dancers via the frontpage of the newspaper! Cool huh?
I’m the one with the big pink fluffy skirt (click on the photo for a larger view). Don’t I look cute in pigtails? It’s a bummer that you can’t see my husband in the photo. He looks so handsome all dressed up.
I love square dancing. If you’re interested in learning how to square dance, find a club near you in the Dosado database.

One of the courses I’m taking is a one credit swing dance class. The class meets once a week at the city rec center for lessons. My instructor is well-known and respected, but she rubs me the wrong way.
I dance with every guy in the room on a rotation. Each dance lasts about two minutes. The instructor says that everyone should get an equal chance to dance with good dancers. And boy, there are some bad ones. I’m glad I’m not stuck with a crappy partner. But I’m totally bummed that I don’t get to dance with Roch most of the night. He’s a great dancer.
Last week was especially fun since the amount of leaders matched the amount of followers. Usually half the leaders (men) show up which means I stand around during half the class waiting for my turn to dance. That totally blows because Roch gets twice the dance practice, but we paid the same amount of money for the class.
The next class is tomorrow night. I hope that the numbers are equal again. I think last week was a fluke. We learned some fancy shit though.
