I just installed a wonderful Firefox extension called “Facebook Filter.” This extension allows me to choose which information shows on the main homepage. I love it! Here are the highlights…
Clear The Clutter!
1) Hide ALL applications.
2) Hide “is friends with someone”, “became a fan of”, “likes someone’s status”, etc.
3) Hide the sidebar crap like suggestions, pokes, events, and advertisements.
Now Show Me What I Want
1) Automatically expand long posts and comments (so I don’t have to click the “see more” link)
2) Allow apps I want (like Facebook for iPhone – since people use that to update their status).
Add One More Privacy Option
1) Remove “Recent Activity” posts from your Wall. I don’t know if I want to get rid of this stuff yet. You know, the stuff on my wall that says I just commented on someone’s picture, or added a friend. Maybe I’ll do that in the future.
Download and install Facebook Filter by Chocolate Software. It’s free! By the way, this only works with the Firefox browser – not Safari or Internet Explorer.
