Wondering why my site is constantly broken?
Posted last year, at the end of March.Filed in: hosting, twaddle
Rest assured - the problem stems from this website - not your computer. To be more specific, the problem lies with my server (my hosting company).
The “database connection” has been off and on for the past couple of weeks. This is driving my crazy. When I notify tech support, they quickly fix the problem and apologize for it. Except one time when one of the guys told me Word Press is to blame. Which is false.
When I researched the problem online, I found that others had the same problem. Basically the host/server prevents basic functions from working. Which breaks my blog. And chaps my ass.
I’ve worked with the same host since 2004 with no problems. In fact, their 24 hour real-person-on-the-phone customer support rocks out loud. And my regular website is working just fine (stage38.com). As are my clients websites.
That said… I want my blog to work properly and I’m considering moving it to a different server. But I’m nervous that I will find myself in the same situation (or worse - maybe a new host won’t care about my problems).
Anyway, I’m sorry about the downtime - don’t leave me!
Also, while searching for other hosts, I came across a “spoof” hosting company. Click around and enjoy the mockery of web hosts.
