I need to answer this question because y’all keep asking me about Twitter. Here is Twitter’s explanation:

“Twitter is a free service that lets you keep in touch with people through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?”

It’s social networking using short messages. Now, if you have time on your hands and want all your buddies to know what you’re doing periodically you can update your “Twitter Status” and your friends get get “tweeted” (notified) of what you’re doing right now. Or you can use it to update what you’re thinking about, a funny joke that you heard, say mean things about your boss – whatever.

Because of Twitter’s popularity big companies got on board to offer updates to their customers. People can get real breaking news from their favorite news source. Neat.

So… if you have time on your hands – get a twitter account. I think it’s lame – especially since most people use Facebook and you can update your status for your friends that way.
