What do I Remember About Dan Quayle?

“Potatoe.”

It’s sad really. I can barely remember who was president during his vice presidency. Or the year he took office. But what an ass he was for spelling a word wrong. He is a vice president. How dare he misspell a word? I guess image is everything.

I read a British public opinion poll which rated the worst event in history. They chose Princess Diana’s death. Really? That’s the worst event? That’s all you can remember? Come on England!

If they don’t broadcast it on the news, do we just figure it worked itself out? Like the Thailand Tsunami. I remember it was such a big deal for like two weeks, and then nothing. And it’s not because of Katrina. The U.S. just stopped reporting about it. I remember wondering about the status?

And what about genocide in Rwanda? What about starving Somalians? What about the Malaysian floods? What about the Columbian drug wars?

All we hear about is Iraq. Or whoever else we plan on invading (Iran). Whoa, shut your mouth about North Korea. We only invade non-threatening countries. “Terrorist” is the new “Communist.” Whatever will scare us into compliance. It doesn’t need to be rational.

Do we really think the Nazis are the only ones with Propaganda? The news sucks. It’s partial and opinionated. But so is my memory.

I love the end of this blog. The news sucks…opinionated…as is my memory. Well put. But fuck, I’d way rather listen to you than CNN or Fox.
