What Should I Be For Halloween?
Have you looked for Halloween costumes this year? Oh my gosh. I can’t believe the overabundance of slutty outfits! Slutty pirates, slutty witches, slutty fairies. What gives? Of course, they call them “sexy” costumes. Give me a break. If you only cover up your nipples and your hoo-haw you look… *slutty*.
After I weeded out the obvious whore-ensembles, I realized that I wanted to be someone evil this year. I narrowed it down to two choices:
- The Wicked Witch of the West $90
- Malicifent (the sorcoress from Sleeping Beauty) $40
I considered others like Medusa, Cruela De Vil, or Ursula - but I couldn’t find good costumes at a reasonable price. Which one do you think I should be? Leave a comment or vote on my poll on the sidebar.

I think you should be Malicifent. Even though Malicifent is evil, she is also beautiful and I think you are very beautiful. (not evil though).

I was leaning towards that one anyway because I didn’t want to paint my hands green for the Wicked Witch.
But… I might need a talking mirror. Or is that from Snow White?
Yes, Malicifent!! I just read that book to my nieces and nephews a few weeks ago. Good story. I can’t remember why she cursed sleeping beauty in the beginning though.
By the by, I have the hardest time saying her name, pronounce it for me.
Oh my gosh, I have the same problem. I think of it like “Malice”-”affent”. I’d have to watch the movie again to make sure that’s right.
If I can remember… the king didn’t invite one of the old sorceress ladies to the birth celebration. She was insulted, so she set a curse on the baby to die when she turns fifteen.
Oh yeah, by pricking her finger on a spindle. But the fairy godmother people made it so instead of dying she’d just sleep until the curse was broken by a handsome prince right? It’s so funny to me how fairy tales are constructed. It seems so old fashioned yet we love them!
Yeah, that’s what I thought for her name too.
